Birdwatching at Lake Titicaca

Description

The Lake Titicaca has a great diversity in species of birds. This allows us to realize the activity known as “BIRD WATCHING” or “BIRDS SIGHTING”. an activity that not only allows you to enter the nature, make a record of the species or discover some new, but also to improve the social and economic conditions of the local populations.

Exactly this activity is realized inside The National Reservation of the Lake Titicaca, which protects the big biological diversity of the lake, the most representative species in conservation are the endemic “PLUNGER OF THE TITICACA” (Rollandía microptera) wich is the bird flag of the reservation of the lake and the "KELLI" (Telmatobius coleus) or the giant frog of the Titicaca.

Duration: 7-8 hours

Schedules: 05:30 a.m. It is a suggestion to visit at this hour since most of the birds concentrate on this place. (The schedules can be modified in accordance with the requests of the client)

Itinerary

HOUR DESCRIPTION
05:30 a.m. Pick up you from hotel and go to the The National Reservation of the Lake Titicaca, to the place known as Yanico.
06:00 a.m. Arrival to the community Sachas Ukumarini, to the place known as Yanico, walk to the port and will rise to the boat, then to begin our trip for the channel named Palca (During the course stops were realized in strategic sectors).
08:30 a.m. Arrival to Carihua and Huintitus islands, wich are the place we can appreciate the different birds varieties.
10:00 a.m. Return to Yanico
12:00 m. Lunch (Picnic).
01:30p.m. Arrival and transfer to the hotel in Puno.
